Mission Statement
Living In Pure Serenity (L.I.P.S.)™ center exists to address the growing challenges of low self-esteem, limited career exposure, emotional stress, and unequal access to opportunity among youth and young adults, ages 12-21. Through mentorship, emotional wellness programming, beauty and wellness education, entrepreneurship training, and workforce development, we empower participants to build confidence, develop marketable skills, and pursue successful careers in cosmetology, wellness, film, television, and other creative industries.
We are committed to transforming potential into achievement and helping young people build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Our Pathway
Every journey with L.I.P.S. begins with inner work, as youth explore identity and emotional wellness through Mirror Talk. Next, the Youth Beauty & Wellness Leadership Academy adds hands-on cosmetology and leadership training. Serenity Circle mentors walk beside each participant, while internships and partner programs introduce real salons, spas, and licensure pathways. Each step strengthens both serenity and success. The Heart Behind the Vision
For over three decades, Crystal D. Lewis has stood behind the salon chair as more than a stylist — she has been a mentor, encourager, and quiet counselor. Through I Say Yes Salon & Spa®, she built a space where people felt safe being themselves, exhaling, and being renewed.
As she listened to the stories of young people from ages 12-21 years — mainly from communities with limited access to professional resources— Crystal saw a pattern:
- They were talented, but often doubted themselves.
- They were creative, but lacked direction and opportunities.
- They were beautiful, but didn’t always feel beautiful.
Crystal realized that her calling wasn’t just to style hair, but to shape destinies. The salon chair became the seed, but the vision grew into something larger: a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing the next generation.
From this realization, Living In Pure Serenity (L.I.P.S.)™ was born.
Why the Name L.I.P.S.?
L.I.P.S. = Living In Pure Serenity
Crystal chose this name with great intentionality. Serenity, to her, is more than silence — it is a deep inner knowing that you are safe, valued, and at peace.
Living in pure serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled — the absence of mental stress and anxiety, and the presence of peace of mind, quietness, and tranquility.
Lips speak. They declare who we are, what we believe, and what we expect from life.
Living In Pure Serenity (L.I.P.S.) represents:
- Speaking life instead of fear
- Speaking possibilities instead of limitations
- Speaking identity rooted in purpose, not comparison
L.I.P.S. exists to help young people rewrite the stories they tell themselves — so that what comes from their lips reflects peace, confidence, and destiny.

Crystal’s mission is to:
- Transform mindsets through self-esteem and emotional wellness, mental health education programs
- Educate through workshops on beauty, wellness, and life skills
- Train youth in professional-level cosmetology and wellness skills
- Birth the next generation of licensed cosmetologists and beauty professionals.
